We are proud to announce that some of our CHP members are providing a bootcamp workshop and will be presenting at the International Anesthesia Research Society annual meeting.
A team with specialty in dementia assessment and perioperative cognitive change will conduct an interactive workshop for anesthesiologists interested in sharpening their skills in rapid cognitive-behavioral assessment. Attendees will learn how to administer behavioral neurological tools as well as common screeners to help gauge severity of general cognitive impairment, memory, visual, language, and planning difficulties. Attendees will also learn to appreciate patterns of errors produced by patients of different dementing disorder, what cognitive changes typically occur after surgery, and when to refer patients for more comprehensive evaluations. Additionally, the CHP graduate students and faculty are presenting individual papers and posters. More than one student is up for an award.
